Bassel Rabbat

Bassel is a senior financial and business advisor to mid-sized and small companies, and to family offices. He assists with restructurings, mergers, acquisitions, exits and general business issues. With significant expertise in international tax, he also advises on cross-border financings and fund investments, particularly in the real estate sector. He is frequently engaged to manage his clients’ projects and transactions end to end, and to negotiate all aspects on their behalf.

Bassel’s governance experience includes several directorships. Since 2014, he has been a director of Christian Bonaldi SA, a leading carpentry company founded in Geneva in 1959. Since 2010, he has been a director of W Financial SA, a Geneva-based financial consultancy with activities across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. From 2008 to 2011, he was a director of Freri Industries SA, a leading producer of precision mechanical parts for the medical industry, luxury watch industry, nuclear research, aeronautical industry and other high value added industries. From 2007 to 2012, Bassel was a director of an investment management firm that managed over CHF 1.3 billion in real estate investments on behalf of Swiss pension funds.

Bassel obtained his BA in commerce from the University of Toronto in 1992. He studied finance and economics at the University of North Carolina from 1987 to 1989. He is fluently trilingual in French, English and Arabic, and has basic proficiency in German.
